FRIDAYS SATURDAY
Friday:
1.
The main option is at the Dubai/Abu Dhabi border. However, I do not know if we will get moved on by the police on Friday. Directions are:
1. Take Sheikh Zayed Road to the Abu Dhabi border (you will drive past an ENOC station about 1 km from the border).
2. Take the turn-off for Saih Ash Sheib.
3. Behind the building at the border is a small Abu Dhabi police outpost. Drive past it and you will find a right turn about 100m on. This is a proper asphalt road.
4. Drive down the road until just before it bends to the left. You will be able to see the beach. There is a hard packed road suitable for 2WD cars to go all the way to the beach. This is Dubai territory.
The beach consists of a strip about 1 km long from the Coastguard station on the left to the fence on the right (as you look at the sea). It is certainly possible in a 4WD to drive past the fence on the beach right next to the sea. Whether someone would take exception to this or not is the question! The fence on the right seems to mark the limit of the construction area.
DO NOT kite in the lagoon its protected as a fish farm and rumor has it there is a 10,000 AED fine
